KIE Chief Television (TV) Producer Director Job in Kenya

The Kenya Institute of Education (KIE) wishes to recruit qualified professionals for the following vacant positions:

Chief Television (TV) Producer Director

Scale KIE 11 (1 Post)

a) Duties and Responsibilities
Formulating the station goals, policies and procedures;
Coordinating production work for the Educational television channel;
Preparing annual workplan and budget;
Liaising with the Programming manager on programs content and schedules;
Planning and supervising television production activities and personnel;
Liaising with producers, directors and technical teams on television productions;
Initiating program production partnerships and sponsorship;
Ensuring compliance with national and international regulations and guidelines in broadcasting;
Conducting monitoring and evaluation of the educational channel productions and preparing reports; and
Inducting and training staff.
b) Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:
Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines:- Communications, Media Studies, Education, Broadcast Journalism, or related field and at least three (3) years experience in TV production in a reputable broadcasting house at a supervisory level;
Knowledge of the Kenyan curricular or Educational Television;
Knowledge in educational news gathering, reporting and presentation;
Advanced analytical skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to adhere to Strict deadlines; and
Knowledge in broadcast regulations, rules and guidelines as well as technical and production standards.
Initiative, be a team player and
Proficiency in computer use and application.
