Financial Controller

We are currently seeking a Financial Controller in our Bangladesh Country office.

Role Purpose:

The primary function of the Financial Controller is to ensure Bangladesh Country Office compliance with Save the Children's accounting policy, donor requirements and generally accepted accounting principles through the development and supervision of CO financial policies and procedures, ensuring that accurate, complete and reliable financial information is maintained in the CO financial system, and ensuring an effective and efficient control of CO assets and cash flow to minimise receivables and currency revaluation los ses etc.

There are three main areas of responsibility in the Finance Controllership function:

1) Proper accounting for resources received and used 2) Assurance that resources are used in compliance with controlling rules and regulations 3) Appropriate sharing of information with internal and external sources to document adequate safeguarding and management of resources.

Qualifications and Experience:

1) At least 10 years practical experience working with international Non Governmental Organizations or similar organisation and 5 years at a senior management level 2) MBA/M.Com/equivalent, CPA or equivalent combination of other professional qualification in accounting/finance supplemented by demonstrated relevant practical accounting/finance experience. 3) Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of GOB financial regulations . 4) Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting. 5) A high level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 6) Proven knowledge and experience of computer use (MS-Word & MS-Excel), preferably with accounting package. 7) Demonstrated leadership capacity. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
