PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Facilitate the collaboration among Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) practitioners in National Offices and Support Offices, coordinate training and technical exchange, ensure compatible monitoring and evaluation systems are used and documented, and disseminate lessons learned. Advise and provide the Regional Office with a voice and a face on WASH issues especially for the achievement of the child well-being outcomes. Lead Regional grant acquisition and management of WASH programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In charge of WASH Learning Center and its operational and financial sustainability
Develop a Regional WASH Strategy and Workplan for delivering on the child well-being outcomes.
Network with National Offices and Support Offices, and partner agencies to scale up WASH interventions related to the child well-being outcomes and the Millennium Development Goals.
Support proposal development and fundraising efforts in the Region.
Lead regional/multi-country grant acquisition of WASH programs
Prepare and consolidate WASH progress reports.
Promote cross-learning, training, best practices and sharing of experience in the Region.
Promote advocacy around larger water sector issues in the Region.
Represent World Vision at key sector meetings and forums.
Network with UN agencies, research universities, NGOs to position World Vision as a preferred partner on WASH programs
Perform any other task required for the advancement of World Vision ministry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED:
Masters degree in hydrogeology, geology, development or relevant filed. Water, sanitation and health discipline is a plus.
Ten or more years experience in program management and at least five years working with an NGO or international agency in the field.
Experience in water, sanitation and hygiene sector is required.
International development background with time spent in the field. Experience with the international donor community.
Proven capacity to generate resources through proposal development
Partnership and multi-stakeholder development
Public relations, marketing, and communications skills.
Ability to build relationships and work productively with highly creative people across sectors and cultures.
Strong coordination and networking skills
Good skills in speaking, reading and writing English.
Proficiency in use of internet and world-wide web
Skills in project management, including managing resources, and financial and budget planning
