Job Title: Senior Production Geologist

In Egypt, Shell celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011. It first entered the country in 1911 to operate two concessions in Gemsa and Hurghada. Today Shell has a number of joint ventures and interests in Egypt where most of its upstream operations are located in the Western Desert.
Responsibilities:
The core responsibility of the incumbent is to conduct hands-on production geology expertise with a focus on the following:
-Synthesizing core,log,regional data into sedimentological models.
-Generating alternative reservoir realizations.
-Building static models using Petrel.
-Providing technical expertise in the full range of PG activities.
-Interfacing with the other PE disciplines (i.e.,PP and RE) to ensure full integration and data/model transfer.
-Linking to seismic interpretation including QI.
-Ensuring IRM,core acquisition/analysis,etc. follow minimum standards.
-QC/QA of all static models built by the Bapetco Petroleum Engineering department,both for models constructed in-house or by third parties.
-Managing reservoir studies and contributing to FDP recommendations.
-Operational production geological aspects while drilling development wells jointly with national staff.
-Ensuring adequate data management practices are in place.
-Although the current production portfolio of Bapetco is dominated by clastic reservoirs,growth potential is identified in carbonate reservoirs,experience of which needs to be developed.
-Guiding and coaching national staff to ensure competence development.
Requirements:
-Seasoned PG with strong background in (outcrop-based) sedimentary geology/reservoir architecture and structural geology.
-Wide experience in integrated reservoir studies.
-Skilled in operational geology aspects.
-Effective team worker with good communication skills.
-Coordination/participation of field development planning.
-Flexible, open-minded character combined with patience and endurance.
-Pragmatic, target-oriented approach is required whilst not sacrificing structured analyses and technical quality.
-Good coaching skills of a multi-skilled team with varying levels of competency.
