Shell has been operating in Gabon for fifty years and has a strong portfolio in the South of the country. The Rabi, Toucan and Koula fields are located approximately 50 kilometers north of the Gamba field, where the company also has its headquarters. The company recently opened an office in Libreville and just under fifty staff working in support function jobs now work there.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in implementing Technical Direction:

• To anticipate and solve problems in areas of his discipline to meet and exceed safety,availability,production and equipment performance targets
• To act as ‘assistant’ Authorised Person according to the Shell Gabon Electrical Safety Rules
• To assist in the audit the technical integrity of the electrical installation and initiate corrective action (repair,service or replacement)
• To maintain the electro-technical content of maintenance procedures. To complete/verify FdT forms completed by the maintenance department and monitor follow up
• To keep records of major maintenance and trouble shoot activities
• To be custodian of electrical equipment database
• To investigate and register power cuts
• To check and promote the correct application and adherence to Shell Gabon and Shell Global Solutions electrical standards and procedures,
• To provide electrical support to other electrical and instrument technicians. To coach and mentor junior technicians or colleagues who are behind in their development
• To contribute with technical input to maintenance planning and schedules for electrical and power generation equipment,
• To contribute to the engineering,execution and commissioning of FIC’s
• To call out,direct and control daily activities of Vendor Representatives and carry out Site Acceptance tests,
• To act as contract executor for electrical maintenance contracts,
• To contribute to multidisciplinary analyses,reliability studies,etc…
• To contribute to the SGS Electrical Benchmarking exercise.


Analyse and Improve Facility Engineering and Maintenance Activities:

• Analyse discipline facility maintenance and operating performance,implement improvement proposals to plant,systems or practices.

• Review and update spares holding requirements based on discipline maintenance strategies and plans
• In conjunction with Asset team identify and monitor availability targets,where necessary provide assistance to operations groups in meeting targets


Control Execution Activities
• Carry out spot-checks and start-up audits on installation,commissioning and refurbishment activities to confirm quality of execution

Requirements:
• Some basics in physics, chemistry etc..
• Experience in hydrocarbon production related operations
• HSE background and Ability to work in team
• Ability to work with a multi-discipline production team. Good documentation skills
• Good of there is some expereince in the upstream hydrocarbon producing industry comprising experience of electrical maintenance and engineering.
• Good interpersonal, analytical and PC skills.
